About Department

SJMVS Arts and Commerce College for Women, Hubballi. Department of  Political science is taught in our College   as part of  combined BA. Degree course right from 1967.

Comparative Politics, Parliamentary Government and Indian Constitution  Basic Concept of Political Science, Western and Political Thought,   Political Theory and Political Process and Political Institutions in India, Public Administration, Indian Administration, International Relations and International Organizations are the core areas of teaching.
Political Science is the science of art which studies the state, government and all political activities of man in society. This subject is aimed at to create scientific approach towards public affairs in the minds of students and to prepare an enlightened and responsible generation of citizens and good administrators with value orientation and commitment to the larger interests of the society and the Indian State.

Mission

• To inculcate in the minds of the students the qualities of compassion, tolerance, humanism and patriotism and great concepts and principles of great philosophers, gender equality and inter-communal harmony.
• To inculcate in the young minds fights against  of corruption, terrorism, communalism and regional fanaticism.
• To teach students how to build a transparent, accountable and responsive good governance system.
